Walking from home to the beach, get a selection of international newspapers and magazines to read while you hear the sea. At the beach you can find cafés, restaurants, but also a fruit market and fresh orange juice from the famous Algarve oranges.
At the beach you will get aquainted with the bolinhas sellers - a sweet fried pastery Berlin style. They taste superb after some swiming in the smooth Atlantic warm current waters or a walk in the soft golden sands.
Water sports within season (1 June - 15 September).
A heaven of clear warm waters and white sand. Rent an umbrella and chaise long to enjoy your day at the sea.
It's golden and fine... and you can find beautiful shells and ocean cut stones - like the ones in the house frames.
Do not forget sun screen!

You can walk to the beaches nearby: Manta Rota, Praia Verde - and if you really like walking: Monte Gordo. You can stop along the beaches for food and drinks. "Bolinhas' are served in the beach among other traditional sweet delicacies of the region by local patisserie staff.
It's blue, deep light blue.. with the amazing light of Portugal.

There's water scooters and other beach amusement available to hire.
"Pezinhos n'Areia" is an excellent restaurant at the Praia Verde - the beach next to Altura, you can walk the beach to reach this gastronomic heaven. They are super!
You can choose one of the many options at the beach for a meal, a sandwich, a drink or simply a snack. You might want to try the local sellers of 'bolinhas' (a fried dough cake, Berlin style).
There are excellent accesses to the beach and the sea.
A protected area with native flora where you can sometimes meet herded goats.
