You can rent a car, take a taxi from the airport, or a Bus to Altura
Arrive by public transport from Seville, Faro or Lisbon. Look up schedules to go anywhere in Portugal by bus. Monte Gordo or Vila Real de Santo Antonio are a 10 minute drive away to Altura by taxi or local public transport.

Altura is betwen the Ria Formosa and the Sapal natural parks, you can walk to the beach by the dunes, cycle through the Sapal nature reserve to the salt production landscapes.
