Castro Marim

 

The salt drying landscape open up the way to centuries old town with a fortress that offers a view over the region. Walk the old streets and appreciate the typical architecture. This town lies at the heart of the nature reserve where one of the best world marine salt is produced.

Vila Real de Santo Antonio

 

 

Discover a geometrically designed town, eat snails, mussels and other local delicacies, like dried fruits, buy traditional linen and take a boat ride up the Guadiana river. Here you can also find a Tourism Office.

Faro

 

 

Arrive at Faro airport, rent a car and before hitting the road to the house have a look around the old town centre.

 

Tavira

 

​An historical town you have to visit.

Tavira is just 10 minutes away by car and there you can find a modern shopping mall where you can buy all you can need from clothes to sunglasses, from toys to home wear. You will want to visit the Tavira Island, a beach in a natural maritime reserve, you need to take a boat to go there - besides plenty of restaurants you will also find a naturist beach and within season you can enjoy a massage at the beach.

Seville

One hour drive into Spain. An amazing city, capital of Andaluzia.

Menhirs & Mertola

​

One hour away up North on the highway you will find the Museum town of Mertola. It's history from the beginning of times is built around the river, which brought the world to the interior of Portugal and vice-versa.



Walk the town, eat Alentejo food, like Ensopado de Enguias (Eal), game (deer, pheasant, etc) sheep cheese and other regional specialities. â€‹After your delicious meal you can walk the entire town, explore its Roman legacy, climb to the castle and the church that was built a mosque. We recommend this unique experience.



On you way there visit the menhirs, you will see directions on the way. On a perfect day you will think you are in the garden of Eden as the place is surrounded by beautiful orchards.
